everything...IS management is set on who they hired versus who was already there when they management team was instilled. If you are not one of the chosen, you will be let go

    Advice to Management

Quit and give other people a chance to really manage people

    Pros

Some interesting work, co-workers are good people.

    Cons

Very bad management; negative career growth, even with extreme effort and results; this is more of a who you are friends with to get ahead type place rather than advancement and rewards via achievement and merit. This is just a God-awful place to blow out one's career to be honest. Those who can get out. People who are unqualified stay in positions they don't deserve.

    Advice to Management

Employees are your greatest resource - treat them as such. Stand up and answer the mail. Forget elaborate board rooms and do something for your employees. Your reputation is in need of great repair and your employees are in need of some concern, fairness, and decency. Focus on that and retaining productive employees and your business and products will improve.

    Pros

After working for Trimble, I honestly cannot think of one legitimate "pro". The pay was competitive, so I guess this is a "pro". Oh yeah, they provide a select few with a cheesy chinesey Trimble jacket once a year. Yep, this would be "pro" number two.

    Cons

Making the decision to go to work for Trimble was a huge decision for me and my family, and a mistake and a major setback for me. They have no system or method for on-boarding and nurturing new employees, and when it is time to leave the company you will be treated like cattle (ok maybe less than cattle). Treatment of their employees is very sad and over time I am sure this type of behavior will adversely affect their brand.

Company values are exceptionally poor. The hiring process is very informal and not well thought out, and neither is their employee exit process.

Leadership should be more involved with their team's goals and expectations, but they seem to be running scared (because of pressures from Wall Street) and have no time or energy to guide, mentor, or communicate. The company culture is overall very weak and non-supportive of their employees or channel partners.

    Advice to Management

I recommend: better communication, training, mentoring, and some level of humanity and caring for your employees. Also, think out your strategies before implementing them. Be sure all resources are available before launching new initiatives. Stop shooting from the hip and be more systematic. Heighten your level of professionalism by training your leadership on how to manage and lead professionally.

    Pros

    1. Trimble shuts down twice a year, giving ample time off (some of the time is charge to the employee, whether you like it or not).
    2. Many travel opportunities since Trimble is a global company.

    Cons

    1. Culture is horrible! CEO encourages in-fighting to see who rises to the top.
    2. Communications within IT is non-existant.
    3. Complete lack of standards and processes in IT and support of the users.
    4. IT management can't make a decision to save their lives.
    5. Performance reviews are a joke! They don't occur!

    Advice to Management

Scrap the entire Corporate IT management staff, from the CIO (acting) down. Make a conscious effort to develop an IT function that operates with a vision and mission and one that operates with standards instead of the "wild, wild west" approach in place today. It ain't workin' Steve!

  6. Very rapidly declining morale consider employment elsewhere.

    Pros

Continues to grow even with a bad ecomony. Friendly and smart people to work around. Laid back if you can get into the right job..

    Cons

Company profits continue to increase while the employees benfits decrease. Management walks around with chip on their shoulder, and is very closed minded to employees needs.

    Advice to Management

Stand up for the people that break their backs for this company. Listen to employees ideals and concerns.

  7. Bad performance, arrogant nature are the norms for growth opprotunity.

    Pros

Work schedule is flexible. Growing company- very nice startegic team. Company headed to the right direction.

    Cons

There are zero growth opportunities provided in the IT department. Very low compensation. People are not judged by their skills or experiences. They need to be the puppets of the handful of managers to be promoted. Promotion is solely based on favor and not skills or experience. Those who are not good at work have better chances of being promoted. They do not care for a dissatisfied workforce. The local management lives in their own world and do not believe in building a team. They are more focused on external resources and ready to pay big bucks to them. Their employee raises are lowest. Year after year there will not be any employee reviews and raises will be solely based on ‘Manager’s discretion’. It does not matter how bad the performance is, what is feedback from the clients, how many complaints are against a person, the person just needs to be a ‘favorite’ of ‘a’ manager. Personal relationships with these key people are more important than professionalism. You will get zero appreciation for any good work but lot of criticism for any smallest mistakes. Local management is not open to discussions. They do not like any new/innovative ideas. They think people with the ideas are ‘too fancy’ and continue their old school style. Lot of the workforce has come from local area and do not have experience outside of this company. They do not care about losing the good resources even after their decades of services. The only thing is manager’s favorite list for any good things to happen to you. Recently in a very short period lot of people left the company due to their ‘zero recognition’ policy.

    Advice to Management

Senior management and 'C' level executives in corporate office shuld take a wake up call. They really lost control over some of their offices. They need to look why there is sudden departure of many resources from one particular office. If the local management really capable of keeping the growth track of the company.

    Pros

If you do not care about career growth and want a stable life this is the company you can work for.

    Cons

No growth opporunities provided.Management does not discuss career path with employess. Even the yearly reviews are not fair. Some management persons decide what will be the raise, review discussion does not happen at all. Very disappointed.

    Advice to Management

Management need to listen to the employees. Need to understand the innovative ideas for a better work environment.

    Pros

There are many intelligent and hard working people within various business groups. Those people stimulate new ideas, growth and strategic changes to address market needs.

    Cons

Employees are treated as an expense line item rather than as human beings. There are many who have built lifetime careers at the company, and those people fear change. Female employees are not treated well/equally.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your biggest asset - your employees.
