I worked at Trimble Navigation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity for advancement, training and classes to keep growing your skill set, fairly flexible work environment, competitive salaries and benefits.

    Cons

Company is spread out over many cities and countries, getting anything done takes patience and a lot of coordination, projects are all worked through a process that doesn't leave much room for invention or improvisation.

    Pros

Very financially stable company with a great potential for growth. Is a company that has the ability to change entire industry segments.

    Cons

Has the ability to buy companies every other day and does without input from key stake holders of existing companies to insure they are needed or will really solve a need for the group.

    Advice to Management

Need to involve more mid to high level managers when purchasing new companies. Should also look at investing in the companies that you purchase to solve problems and fill needs before going out and buying another company.

    Cons

Stock grants should be given to a broader population of employees.

    Advice to Management

The CEO has the highest integrity level and is very approachable He is highly respected by the employees and has a loyal following.

    Cons

Bad communication to the lower management, useless reasons to end the contract, no planning what so ever

I worked at Trimble Navigation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They have a nice benefits package and take care their employees. They have pretty consistent financial growth. The president does a great job when he sending company-wide messages (but he doesn't do it enough).

    Cons

Very little promotion from within. The management team does not communicate well anymore. Once they're done with you, you're gone. Worry too much about stock price.

    Advice to Management

Communicate to employees more. Train lower level managers to cast a vision for employees and start training and promoting current employees. Ignore what the stock market does and stop chasing year over year growth each quarter. It's not realistic.
