ProsThere is always room to grow, if is a friendly environment, and team oriented. You always woke up wanting to go to work, as well as eager to learn more.

ConsSometimes the managers seem scattered, and not always forward in direction. They were doing their best while some stores were closing down, but it felt like maybe there was no longer room to grow.

Retail is great, design not so fine

    Anonymous (Current Employee)
    Vernon, CA

Pros-Majority of people are great to work with

Cons-retail runs the show, design is seriously loosing their voice
-company downsized and thus everyone left is picking up 2-3 peoples worth of work
-mostly employ temps for long periods of time without bringing them on full time

Advice to Senior Management-give decent raises and promotions to those who earn it in other depts than retail
-stop spreading around a budget crisis when a lot of money is wasted in unnecessary events

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Every store experience will be different

    Store Manager (Former Employee)
    Dallas, TX

    ProsGood pay
    Great corporate involvement
DM very professional with feedback and coaching
    Benefits are good

    ConsFloor set communication from corporate
Each store is different but my individual experience was with very unprofessional associates and managers. Maybe the interview process needs to be more thorough.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not promote someone who is a good seller into management - they may not have the character to be in management just because they can sell. DM should do more thorough investigations when problems begin to occur in a specific store. Observe for themselves, as you never know what people will do and say to get ahead and to hide insecurities.

    Lacking organization from corporate offices

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)

ProsGreat opportunity to fine tune sale techniques with quality product

ConsLack of care from managers when It comes to benefits of all employees of the store.

Shifts for non-management are broken up between 4-7 hours at most.

Advice to Senior ManagementHonesty with employees towards succession planning. I've personally been lied to by store management for over a year about promotion.

Once a bright company, now going under due to bad corporate decisions.

    Key Holder (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsGreat opportunity to make extra money in commission if you are a great seller. You can really increase your hourly wage by being aggressive on the sales floor. Which is not such a good thing if that is one of your weaknesses.

ConsNot much room to grow. Wages keep decreasing for new hires due to company losing its appeal in the fashion industry. Cannot hold on to client base. Same designs of product every season. A current high turn over rate for management, a few years this was not the case.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease Salary. You cannot expect great employees to work for such low wages.

    Great for temp work

    Freelance (Former Employee)
    Vernon, CA

    ProsGood Pay
    Friendly co-workers
    Flexible schedule
From a freelancers point of view, the work was straight forward/easy.
For a high-end, casual apparel company, the work environment was surprisingly calm.

ConsAlthough there was very little micro-managing during my time with this company, the management team was very non-communicative in respect to the job that they hired me to do.
Location is just outside of LA and is not the greatest area.
Didn't feel that I learned anything new or valuable to make myself marketable for my next job.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate clearly with the new hires, even if they're only there on a contract basis. From my experience, I was told that I was hired for a specific job, but as soon as I got there, the job changed completely.

    Great environment

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)
    White Plains, NY

ProsI love the environment of my job. We all get along, there isn't any drama. Everyone sticks together in making our goals for the store. The discount is very good. They're very flexible.

ConsNo full time position. The pay can be a little more. No type of benefits unless you have a management position. They say there's room for advancing but I haven't seen anything like it.

Worked here for 3 years too long

    Stock Lead (Former Employee)
    Carlsbad, CA

ProsCo-workers were all very nice and friendly, we were one big family

ConsDealing with tourist customers every single day and being understaffed definitely added to the stress. Schedules were never made on time, they would be finished for the next week..two days before that week actually started.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on scheduling and training your employees on the product
