Not bad but certainly not the worse place to work for.

End User Computing Specialist - Senior (Former Employee) Kansas City, MO

ProsThe people. Simple as that, the people there are incredible! I worked there in IT for almost 10 years and when I left felt like I left a good portion of myself there. The benefits were not too bad.

ConsSenior management really did not interact nor engage the lower ranks of the hospital. I got the feeling that we were there servicing them half the time.

Advice to Senior ManagementCome out of your offices from time to time and find out what we are doing. Sometimes we do need your help you know?

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Experience at TMC

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsGreat learning experience. Excellent benefits.

ConsLimited resources, supplies, and staffing to care for patients. Upper management gets very high percentage raises while the other 95% are lucky to get 1% yearly.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage and support further education and certifications and increase pay accordingly. Staff according to census. Work on employee satisfaction/retention.

Getting the experience I need to move on.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat coworkers, busy work environment lots of trauma.

ConsDepartments are taxed with patients. Busy weekends with low staffing and high acuity patients. Department heads don't realize how taxing things are.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember the little people, give us a pat on the back instead of harping on the negative all the time.

Data Clerk (Current Employee) Kansas City, MO

ProsThe benifits are great compaired to other hospitals.
Flexabliity in time needed off are reasonable.

ConsPerformance - extra work are noticed, but not mentioned that you did a good job, or thank you for taking it apon yourself for doing that.
Pay I feel is under the cost of living level.- Needs a new cost of living raise. Last one was 5-7 yrs ago.

    Great mission, implementation is lacking

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe mission of the hospital is great

ConsSometimes, people forget what a "safe haven" is. More concerned with appearances vs. the help that people really need. Some of the clinical employees look down on the people they are suppose to be helping.

    Nurse

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsWas pay but that is starting to lag along with recent cut in benefits.

ConsLeadership is fairly naive. Very resistant to consult with physicians and nurses regard actual patient care strategies. Upper management believes a business degree in health care administration enables them to direct patient care.
