I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The company is lead by an extremely qualified group of individuals who live the company's core values. There is a definite culture of teamwork and integrity.

    Cons

Construction in general has very long hours when compared to other disciplines. The worst part about Turner is that sometimes your direct manager may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but there is opportunity to grow.
Turner should do even more to help develop their people by backing them financially for higher level degrees. Train people so they can leave, treat them so that they won't

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp your tuition assistance program and start a program to further enhance your technical staff (MEP departments).

    Pros

Focused on their employees growth and success. They offer many different resources and training opportunities. The company is also very focused on healthy work life balance.

    Cons

Turner is a very large company which makes growth and career advancement both unlimited and open ended.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Turner Construction as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Awesome co-workers, lots of hands on experience, lots of real world experience, co-workers collaborate with you in order to help you jump into the teams project, welcoming atmosphere

    Cons

There aren't too many cons, though I would say that the multiple weekly meetings may get tiresome if you have a short attention span.

    Pros

Great experience. Turner utilizes the newest CM methods and technology.

    Cons

Long work hours and travel but that's just the construction industry in general.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create SOP's (standard operating procedures) to make it easier for people to bounce around projects.

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Management philosophy, managers and co-workers, training, resources, benefits, culture

    Cons

Processes can be slow and more complicated than they need to be, its a large company so although there are growth opportunities there are lots of people to grow into those oppertunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make processes easier for operations. Stream line processes and make departments accountable for their own responsibilities. (ie operations has too much work involved in accounting, let us focus on operations).

I worked at Turner Construction as an intern

    Pros

This company has a good close family type atmosphere. I loved working here. If you love people, then you'll love working for Turner. At least that is what it seemed like with me being an intern.

    Cons

For me being an intern the only bad thing was being stuck in the office most of the time.
