    Pros

Great learning environment with the benefit that people do not get pigeon-holed to titles or positions. Employees and their feedback are valued. Time management skills are highly valued, taught and encouraged in order balance work and personal life. This is the place for a well-rounded career. Perks: top benefits package and travel

    Cons

Occasionally, dependent on project specific schedule, there can be very long work days, nights and even weekends.

I worked at Turner Construction as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The people at Turner are highly motivated and competent individuals who have no problem helping each other out. They offer a competitive and challenging work environment for people who are willing to take things into their own hands.

    Cons

At times I had to ask my boss for more work. Things change constantly and failure to adapt will mean job failure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide employees with all of the tools they need. Analyze each departments needs and provide them specific software and computers based on need.

I have been working at Turner Construction

    Pros

I have been lucky enough to be on projects with awesome people that make me laugh and enjoy going to work. Work-life balance was nonexistent for my first 6 years but that was more my issue due to the fact I want to be on my projects to make sure things get done they way I like.

    Cons

Not many perks due to the dreaded corporate ethics policy but that's where the industry has headed. that whole squeaky wheel saying is definitely true and it seems that while it matters that your ability determine your standing, your are more likely to be noticed if your direct manager is one of the in crowd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less corporate PR-type speak please. Give it to us straight.

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Happy to spend entire career with, Strong family oriented culture, vast opportunity for individual growth and advancement

    Cons

Same challenges and demands of any company within the construction industry- demanding responsibilities but I wouldn't have any other way. When you work in a high performing best in class company, you always want to do more. Much of that pressure is self-induced, managers expect you to manage your workload appropriately.
