I have been working at U-Haul

    Pros

The biggest pro is that it's flexible enough to work around a school schedule. And it's generally a friendly atmosphere between all levels of employees. Seems like an easy company to move up with enough ambition.

    Cons

The pay seems low for some of the work required.. often lifting heavy trailers, closing the store, installing hitches/wiring, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Praise your employees for good work instead of always saying "You did ok,but (and listing a bunch of frivolous things)"

I worked at U-Haul part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's not bad work. I learned a lot about vehicle maintenance in my time with U-Haul. There is a lot of training available online.

    Cons

Limited opportunity for growth. Working in at one of the smaller location offer less flexibility, long hours, and usually requires you to manage the store alone . My location would require 12 and 13 hour shifts a couple times a month. Our Marketing Company President would often not allow my General Manager to purchase things that we needed to run our store efficiently.
