I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

New uniforms, They do promote from with their company. I feel this is very important to my anyway.

    Cons

Sloppy Management! They want you to be professional and look professional and they look like undercover drug dealers. Don't shave, uniforms not pressed, shoes not shined and they are my bosses. Practice what you preach. Always complaining about their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set the example by using the correct example, or be the example. Act professional at all times and conduct business appropriately. Stop the buddy system, just because you have been there should not mean your the man that gets promoted! Evaluate your guards completely and then make a decision on who gets promoted. If your my boss stop telling me how bad you have it with the company. If you unsatisfied with your position or situation. Change jobs! O yeah when I call to ask a question don't make me feel like I am a burden. Have a good attitude! Remember I work for you.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time

    Pros

Not many, just work close to home.

    Cons

No leadership, management did not return calls or take any requests for help seriously. Constantly ignored unless management had something to say. Failure to provide work schedule properly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try working with the people under you instead of ignoring them, provide some feedback even if it is negative. Your employees do a job for you, act like you appreciate the job that they do.

I have been working at U.S. Security Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are none. You will have a job - no more and so much less.

    Cons

This place is rotten to the core from the inside out and from the bottom to the top. There is no regard for federal, state or local laws and mandates. There is office politics and cliques. There is low salaries, crappy benefits and no perks. There are raises/bonuses for the top 5%. There is below average or minimum wage salaries for the remaining 95%. There are insults hurled at you or your co-workers on a daily basis. There are plenty of boring repetitive redundant tasks to perform. There is no opportunity for growth or career development even though your intelligence is insulted/questioned daily. There are roadblocks placed in front of you to impede your progress. There is blatant discrimination/disparities: racism, sexism and sexual harassment. There is a feudal system for the majority and a plantation system for the minority. There are no direct lines of communication and you must muddle through the pecking hierarchy to do your job. There are no tools provided to work effectively, successfully, or expediently. There are rewards for the remedial and punishments for the talented. There is an abundance of lying, cheating, back-stabbing, self-aggrandizing, and withholding of information. There is forever a long convoluted way of doing anything simple. There is a hostile dysfunctional chaotic work environment. There is an overwhelming disrespect for others. There is no clear logical strategic ACTIVE vision for the company. There is always a proposal for change and, yet, nothing ever changes for the better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management knows everything. They are omnipotent, so I will not waste my time making suggestions. I have two comments: remember the Golden Rule and what goes around comes back around.

    Cons

Hostile work environment, poor response when contacting the office for anything. Interoffice conflicts are constant

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Not many. No promotions, no raises, no sick pay, no holidays off

    Cons

The district office in KCMO is horribly managed. They don't support any of their site, clients, or officers. They often lie to new applicants about pay and hours to get your hired. Jim Spore runs this branch and is an awful person. There are lots of employees that call off and they will force you to stay. They cancelled all of or health benefits without telling the employees. I had over 7 site managers while employed there for 6+ years. The good ones we're ran off by the KCMO branch office. I could go on about ignored sexual harassment problems and unethical behavior but you get the point. Avoid this company. The officers will always get the blame for everything and no one will support you. The pay is bad and there are almost never raises, don't believe what they tell you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of everyone at the branch office. They are the reason you have lost excellent guards and even some clients.

    Pros

My co-workers are what keep me going to work right now.

    Cons

Some management is ok but some are complete jerks who don't know how to communicate or properly speak to their employees. pay is low yet better then some post. Favoritism runs rampant if your not a favorite you will never get anywhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better train your supervisors and higher ups. on how to do their job, and use better judgement when looking for a good candidate for a supervisor or higher position start by looking for professionalism and common sense.

    Pros

Easy job, you just have to show up and your employee of the year.

    Cons

They get your check wrong all the time, if you don't watch it you'll get paid the wrong hourly wage, maybe that's how they make bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO clean house in the Birmingham office and start from scratch, they're all terrible.

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They'll hire almost anyone. Other than that, I can't contribute any more to a list of Pros regarding U.S. Security Associates.

    Cons

Don't manage well, consistently abdicate responses to their employees, terrible work conditions at the job sites, miss meetings with employees, deny employees rights.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should really take into consideration the safety of your employees. Don't work them in unsafe environments just so you can have a client.
