    Great Company to Work For

    I worked at UBS

    Pros

UBS was a great place to start a career. From the rotational programs to the networking events, UBS provided an very friendly and encouraging environment to work in.

    Cons

In such a large company, it may be difficult to see or understand your impact in the business. You will have to make the effort to understand not only how you fit in, but also how your area fits into the big picture.

Current Employee - Executive Director in New York, NY

I have been working at UBS

    Pros

Smart people, ample opportunity to take ownership and drive change

    Cons

None that aren't applicable to almost all global FS companies - hard to maintain strong culture, politics, cost cutting, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement stronger hiring practices and get rid of any remaining dead wood

I worked at UBS full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The culture is one of the best on the street. There are many opportunities for pronation and job relocation.

    Cons

Very "Ivy". The people are not stuck up, but if you are not from a top 10 school, you sometime feel a bit out of place. However, it's a bit humbling if you are not from a top 10, yet you are there anyways. No major cons though.

I have been working at UBS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

UBS has some of the best people in the industry. They should remember that people make the firm and make sure they value their employees. The opportunities are immense and people can move up easily. Work life balance is very good, depending on the group (and boss).

    Cons

High turnover and average pay. The trend of staying at one job for 20+ years is a thing of the past and the firm is impacted by these movements. Compensation would be better.

Laid back, not much to learn

I have been working at UBS as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Particularly good for interns as people are very friendly and environment is laid back. They will try to accommodate with your schedule and make sure everything fits well. Management is very caring.

    Cons

Opportunities to learn are low as wealth managers are very busy. Most of what interns do is administrative work and that gets old very fast.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    create a program around interns
