    Pros

Relaxed environment, lots of research variety, degree program is less stressful than most, Davis is a great town to live and hang out in

    Cons

High cost of living, degree program isn't as vigorous as most

    Advice to Management

The Chemistry PhD program isn't as rigid or strenuous as other top tier universities. This design lends itself to be a great incubation environment for hard working, self-motivated students. But this design also lends itself to harboring lazy and/or non-motivated students. Personally, it was the right kind of program for me and I really thrived, but I would like to see the expectation bar be raised a bit higher than it is now.

    Pros

Flexible work environment with other students. They gave us the ability to do outside tasks (homework) when things were slow. Flexible hours. Easy to get shifts covered.

    Cons

Staff meetings were often held even when no information needed to be covered. Staff was often burnt out from working the entire summer orientation.

    Advice to Management

Hire increased staff that don't work orientation so they are not burnt out by the time the school year starts.

    Pros

Able to have steady work for 6 months. Position gives variance in working titles. Get paid more than reg career workers and other temp employees.

    Cons

Schedule can change at anytime. It is temporary. Everything is your job because your a floater so you cant say that's not my job description. Location of job can change at anytime. Overtime is based on seniority.

    Advice to Management

Have more concern as to how staff and management interact. Some managers abuse their power.
