Dr. A. Eugene Washington
Former Employee – worked at UCLA Health System full-time for less than a year
Pros – Steady and consistent work. Great benefits.
Cons – Too much like an assembly line. Quantity vs quality of work is the most important thing there. A lot of people walk around like zombies, and don't really care about their job. Most older staff have no problem vocalizing they're simply counting down until retirement.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more open to listen to ideas and suggestions from younger workers.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at UCLA Health System as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Great people to work for and with. Strong teams.
Cons – The only CON. The salary is well below industry standards for the area. Attrition is high in IT.
Advice to Senior Management – The management team is on e of the nest I have worked with but they need to rally with the CIO to raise salaries or they continue to risk the high turnovers.

Pros – If you are looking for a great work and personal life balance this the place to be. great benefits and retirement package as well.
Cons – the pay is very low compared to other organizations. there is a lot of politics especially in the upper management.
Advice to Senior Management – please take care of your employees since they are getting paid very low. promote people base on their ability not because you like them.

Current Employee – been working at UCLA Health System
Pros – Good pay, benefits, and work life.
Excellent opportunities to learn.
Cons – Egotistical MD, who use degrees as a validation of intelligence.
Wish they stressed social skills more so in Med School.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop catering to MD's. Changing departmental policies for individuals who do not abide shows incompetence on mid-level management.

Current Employee – been working at UCLA Health System
Pros – They give good benefits and have a range of fields that they hire people to work in at moderate pay.
Cons – It is working at a large public institution where pay is mediocre and the bureaucracy can be frustrating at times.
Advice to Senior Management – It is hard when it is such a large institution but making it feel smaller and a more comfortable work environment would be good.

Former Employee – worked at UCLA Health System full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – A lot of smart people to work with. Great opportunity for advancement. There are a lots of great benefits. The low and mid level managers are great to work with.
Cons – Their current project appears to be Consultant heavy. When Consultants are making hiring decisions, they are not familiar with the existing capabilities of inhouse resources and can therefor bypass good and skillful talent.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay the current employees what they are worth. At least bring them up to market rate if they are not already at market rate. Don't let political decision override the correct decision.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
