    Pros

Hands-on experience, knowledgeable faculty, cutting-edge research, unlimited resources, great location, flexible hours (depending on your faculty advisor), energetic students and near-limitless opportunities

    Cons

unfortunately the position is low pay and no room for negotiation. Often, you will find yourself working long hours and if you're not self-motivated, this can be a daunting task.

    Advice to Management

The management is very unique to the faculty advisor. Some advisors don't track your hours, as longs as the work is completed, others will require hours. Advice for the student/employee: find the advisor that is most compatible for your life style.

    Pros

Nice retirement plan (UCRP), very good health insurance for the whole family, good time management in most of departments

    Cons

With respect to the price of life in LA, salaries are low for post-docs, SRA 1 and 2, lab techs. Starting from SRA3 and Assist. Prof you can expect somewhat reasonable payment

Amazing minds, state of the art facilities, lively atmosphere. You can go as far as you want to go. This place is a west coast Ivy.

    Advice to Management

Less administrators doing more work faster.
