Pros – The benefits are good, especially the accrued time off policy. It really allows you flexibility with time off for vacations, sickness, etc.
Cons – Having to work every third weekend makes it tough to have a life. It's tough raising a family when you have to constantly switch days off with other employees.

Pros – Major growth phase, easy to rise if you are capable, good work life balance
Cons – Growing pains. EMR still being implemented, needs better coordination with community practices.
Advice to Senior Management – Maintain core mission (hint: primary care)

Pros – The Kitchen has a ton of awesome employees. the pay is quite substantial, and holiday, weekend, and evening differentials allow for a huge pay boost. no drug screening for all you potheads out there (hell yea!!!) Weekends are really easy since there is a small amount of staff/patients. PLENTY of breaks, with the flow of work going from large amounts to nothing at all for even hours at times.
Cons – poor management. poor maintenance, they seem to JUST keep things running around here. dish machine breaks often and garbage disposals always fail. we just work around it. management sometimes chooses to ignore problems more often than fix them. even if it means we could get shut down. example: the dish machine for 2 months was running at 60 degrees for its final rinse(instead of the industry standard of 180!). the supervisors would lie on the temp charts while we waited for parts. this is highly illegal.
Advice to Senior Management – actually spend some time in the kitchen.

Pros – Salaries are competitive with many of the hospitals in the area. The people are great to work with, and are quite friendly. It's a family environment. The benefits package is great. There is a lot of vacation/sick time, two types of health/dental plans, flexible spending account, and a 403b plan. It's a good place to work if you like to be involved in many different aspects of health care technology. If you aren't a clinical person, that knowledge will surely increase as a result of being employed. The software vendors do on-site training, and are generally easy to work with.
Cons – There isn't much room for advancement as groups are small, and there aren't many levels of management. Management, at times is blind to what it takes to complete various tasks which can cause some frustrations. 24/7 support is necessary, and can cut into a personal life when being called during off-hours. There is a lot of juggling which must be done, and a person must be very good at task management and prioritizing because tasks will get buried quickly, so organization is a must. This can get frustrating because many tasks don't get finished and get left behind. You must be a self-learner because the amount of useful training which is received is minimal.
Advice to Senior Management – Review the amount of man hours necessary to complete the large efforts being pursued by the organization.
