I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs

    Pros

(Sarasota, Florida, VA Clinic) Fantastic union representation, no forced overtime, whistle blower protection, great camaraderie, pension, a lot of internal job openings, generous time off, and many friendships are made.

    Cons

The public doesn't appreciate the cutting edge technology offered by the VA. Also, people generalize that a problem in one VA is likely to be found at all VA facilities. Most people don't know that VA doctors and nurses are also working at top hospitals.
