    Okay place to work

Contract Coordinator (Current Employee) Rosemont, IL

ProsLove the people I work with; my supervisor is very open to suggestions

ConsVacation time did not match my last job; our big manager is always talking about the team, but I don't feel like I am part of any team, he treats our department different from the other.

    Good transitional employer

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsBenefits, office culture, salary and people - all are decent. Office culture is laid back and business casual. Location is near many good restaurants.

ConsNo room for growth or advancement within the company. Education and training are not stressed or encouraged. Too many re-inventions of the wheel

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on employee education and training opportunities to enhance skills needed for advancement within the company. Improve on internal communications.

Overall, Good Experience so Far. Only time will tell with the Merge with Sysco.

Sales Coordinator (Current Employee) Port Orange, FL

ProsGood Company to work for. If your smart, you can usually move up after you prove yourself. Management is a little more reluctant with warehouse workers of course. There's a stereotype with warehouse workers, and if you are smart, it will still be hard for you to attain a job on the office side due to stereotyping.

ConsPersonally, I've seen them fire somebody that's worked there for over 10 years on the drop of a dime for something insignificant. If the time comes, they don't care about you or your seniority. Which is expected I guess.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advise? My opinion is that US Foods needs to look to people with computer skills and have more fluid intelligence. Too often, I see departments seeking older people with crystalline intelligence and are completely computer illiterate. A lot of my superiors are not intelligent with computers and have an inability to reason abstractly.

    It was OK

Account Manager (Former Employee) Clifton Park, NY

ProsIts a well run company that is competitive and does alot to educate their reps. Compensation is good initially however once you are on commission, if customers don't pay- you don't get paid

ConsLong hours, ALOT of driving. Be prepared to run your car into the ground. Little support from management. very demanding in terms of attending meetings and other corporate functions. Don't expect to have much of a life outside of work.

    My Experience With USF

    Buyer (Former Employee) Charlotte, NC

ProsPay is good., friendly co-workers, well-known company

ConsStuffy old PYA mentality, managers in certain areas need management training, your days off are never really days off-constantly plugged in,

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease make sure that your management is aware that the people they have working under them are human beings. To be talked to in a belittling manner is not acceptable on any level.

    no growth

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosliked who I work with, good training. the training was the best part of the job.. thats when you really get to know products and the right people to help you

ConsBut they really don't care about your customers. at the end of the day you need to do it all. you need to make sure your customers get the service they deserve .. no one really helps with that

High turnover due to lack of empathy for employees.

Truck/Delivery Driver (Current Employee) Lenexa, KS

ProsIf you're willing to work hard and put with a hostile work environment, the pay is high.

ConsUpper management doesn't listen to commonsense solutions to logistical problems. Lots of abuse from customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementHigh turnover can be solved with changing your approach to expectations versus reality. Training is not thorough nor is it professional. Allowing senior employees to take a newer highers hours is cause for an hostile work environment.
