    Pros

Make the best friends of your life. You will get to experience alot that most people will never get the chance to.

    Cons

For every good leader there is a bad leader. The drawdown is keeping a lot of "reg thumpers" around and not true leaders with real skills.

I have been working at US Marine Corps part-time

    Pros

There are tremendous amounts of schools and certification course available in the Information Technology(IT) related field, fast promotion rates, and when you actually do your job, there is a great deal of accomplishment.

    Cons

Your duty station within the Marine Corps will dictate how much of your job you will actually do. You can learn a lot about Information Technology(IT) overall, but unless you get put in a unit working along side civilians or you deploy to a combat zone, you will get stuck doing bottom level helpdesk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more power to the Data Marines, you pay for their training and advancement but restrict them to entry level IT jobs. Jobs that can be learned just by spending time at that duty station, instead of doing things they have learned in courses/classes and are just as capable of doing as the civilian contractors you higher to do them.
