I have been working at USANA Health Sciences full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Growing company. Expect them to become a billion dollar company in the near future

    Cons

Management attitudes change drastically day to day. Very common to be praised and severely criticized in the same meeting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to gain some consistency on what you want from the employees.

I worked at USANA Health Sciences full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Open culture is embraced, not too many mormons, flexible work hours, work remote allowed for certain positions, casual dress code, some areas are very laid back, lots of fitness opportunity. There is enough work to keep people busy and revenue increases every quarter. Company is very stable.

    Cons

Lower than average compensation, HR is very inexperienced. Building and parking areas are full and they are not expanding but keep hiring. All the C levels are "friends" of the CEO and not necessarily the best candidates for their positions. No direction, management is very inexperienced, feels like several companies under one roof.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gone downhill in the last 2 years. Take care of your good people, get rid of the dead weight. You are paying a lot of salaries to folks who play games on Facebook all day and don't really work. Those that work are burning out and leaving. Opportunities seem to go to hand-picked people and not really the people who are working towards them. And some serious housecleaning is needed in IT at all levels! You could axe several teams and directors there and still accomplish the same amount of work. Your productive employees might appreciate seeing some accountability.

    Pros

Great environment, good peers. Fantastic health awareness programs!

    Cons

Paranoia, an open-door policy where they don't really answer any questions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't treat employees like you're hiding something.

I have been working at USANA Health Sciences full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, profit sharing for all employees, nice clean facilities, onsite gym. Time off policy is out dated and does not fit other companies in the industry. CEO is fantastic and a great guy with a good vision.

    Cons

Compensation is average to poor. Training budget is almost under heard of. Company use to promote within but has started to go outside more and more. Company vision used to be clear and employees understood how they made a difference. New leadership has changed the culture in a fews departments and the good working environment has shifted to a "what have you done for me lately" Officers are to focused on profit at the sacrifice of the companies reputation.

I have been working at USANA Health Sciences full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Usually fair pay measured against national/regional averages, Excellent focus on employee health and wellness, good benefits, the best supplements in the industry without question, great compensation plan for distributors, innovative online products and marketing

    Cons

Favoritism and nepotism is common, poor work/life balance in many departments, very poor employee review process with little meaning or value for employee improvement and/or retention, poor communication vertically often with unrealistic expectations for project delivery - change directions too frequently

I have been working at USANA Health Sciences

    Pros

It's fluctuating in how busy you can be on a busy day, which I see sometimes as a plus as it allows you to do the work that you want to put more time into with more care and sensitivity when it's slower - but at the same time allowing you to be driven in a deadline environment and get you through the day quicker.

    Cons

The benefits of part-time employees are non-existent. No paid time off, forced holidays off with no pay, no sick days, no partial health insurance, nothing. Compensation in my department is definitely below what it should be for the difficulty of our calls and the volume - which rivals many other MLM call centers in SLC yet our compensation averages about $10.50 an hour. Free product is OK. Profit sharing is completely deceptive and when you actually do the math, it's a HIGH TAX BONUS that only equates to another 20 cents per hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Profit sharing is deceptive and any retard would understand that it only equates to about a 4% per hourly wage increase if it were distributed throughout the year. It's really just a method of retention for management, and the tax paid on it is very unattractive compared to a lower tax rate achieved from posting it monthly to the hourly wages based salary.
