    Pros

pay check... weekends off.. sort of.. always paperwork to do... insane amounts of paperwork..

    Cons

impossible to succeed in this company in the sales dept.
Service is a joke it is never their fault no matter what happens it is the salespersons fault.
Services loses many of the customers sales works so hard to get and then sales commission is taken back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They hold their customers feet to the fire.
They lie to their customers willingly and often and still hold their feet to the fire.
They care about one thing and it is not the happiness of their employees or the satisfaction of their customers... it is the bottom line and only the bottom line.
I was in the sales dept and in the time I was there(a little over a year they turned over everybody in the sales dept except 2 salesman and the gm. Even the managers quit because they hated it too!!!! also in that time frame even our most experienced and best rep was not at quota... and what is up with being able to bonus before you hit quota. Quota should be a obtainable number and bonus should be a little beyond that. the
the whole idea is to make sales managers and sales people work very, very, very hard and only the higher ups enjoy the spoils...
awful experience. They would say you are on behind on quota and then not offer anything but corporate fodder as to how to get back on track... and anytime they actually had a good manager they were gone in under a year.... a good manager would never stay with this company because it is impossible for them to succeed. They know they have to turn over their whole sales staff every two years and that sales people will not succedd but they still get mad pain when this happens. and they are put thru a heinous amount of incredibly stupid training...
I am only thankful we were not close to corp office in Mass I can only imagine how much fun that would be!!!!!!!
    absolutely set up to fail!!!!
they also have to rescue their paperwork process from the 1960's.. what a cluster the paperwork process is.. you have to write the customers name and address on like 20 different forms!!!! ridiculous and yet another reason a sales person just can not succeed!!!!!! no way!!!

    Advice to Management

help your sales force succeed. or at very least if you are going to take the stance that they are very expendable do make them bend over backwards to get the job and then put them thru that stupid so called training program!!!! Revisit the whole bonus/quota system it is the dumbest thing I have ever scene. Once you get done training and get in the field for a few months you realize you will never, ever hit the quota...

    Pros

Good pay, bad management will leave you in a bind I have nothing good to say about this company. I really do not appreciate this company's screwing me over.

    Cons

They hire 15 people and then fire at least 13 of them.. They don't reason with you, tell you what your doing wrong. They have employees talk to management behind your back. I strongly do not recommend working here. They fired me one afternoon on a weekend said that I wasn't learning quick enough and I was working to fast. The guy I was riding with called himself a christain but threatened to leave me in a city I 2 hrs away from Durham because I wasnt "working fast enough".
They made me do a cash in and didn't help me, then got made because I didn't learn what I was doing the first time I done it. I do not like this place I will never ever work for them or do business with them in the future, they have left me in a bind. That's not caring about your employees that's being but holes. They try to pull you in with good pay but it's nit worth the hard ship you will get after they fire you.

    Advice to Management

Words can not describe how much hard ship I have been through sense this business has laid me off.

    Pros

The benefits weren't bad, the job really wasn't that bad.(if they would just let you do it ). The hours were good

    Cons

Management wouldn't listen, its the type of place that unless it was their idea then it wasn't a good one... There were multiple times when the right answer was turned down because "we don't want to hear that" ... The plant in Owensboro needs to be expanded no if and or buts about it, but the VP has been quoted as saying that will never happen while he is still working there... I say fire him and let the business grow ! Its this old school thinking that is the worst part of the company.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the 80s this is the age of collaboration not "one to rule them all" ... You are no better then the people you hire, start treating them like humans instead of numbers.

    Pros

The pay is not bad for the area. Small group of people sales and service work together.

    Cons

Hours (60) per week. RSR/DSS is blamed for everything wrong.Branch Manager plays dumb. Uses a language barrier as a fail safe.Garments are poorly shipped. Cross contamination is never ending. Location can not keep staff. They walk off without notice. Broken down trucks all the time. Pay is always wrong. No support from corporate due to management hiding issues. RSR running route without heating or a/c in trucks. Was -11 this week. On and on and on issues never end.

    Advice to Management

Customers should not be more focused on then your employees.

    Pros

I met a lot of great contacts; learned a ton about B2B sales; new account only sales led to huge funnel that I took with me; big name with the impression of big results; NJPA connection will get you in many doors.

    Cons

Empty promises, capped income, if you kiss enough butt you will move up the ladder but while you are doing that you are stepping on a lot of toes. Oh, and they are not friendly to women. They want the young, spunky anatomy hanging out women to attract business. A woman with character that stands up to the MEN, well.. they figure out a way to get rid of you

    Advice to Management

Listen to reviews, exit interviews, and fire every dang manager you have in place now. Upper management doesn't have a clue how corrupt the branches are. Or either, they choose to turn a blind eye because of the money they are making their shareholders. HA! Ron Croatti ain't even in the game.. Look at what Cintas and Aramark CEO's are making? Unifirst is small potatoes compared. But oh how you make people feel like you're one big happy family owned and operated company. Happy when you cash that big fat bonus check. Happy that the shareholders are being deceived.

    Pros

Corporate. Not all but there are some bullies out in corporate. Very mean, judge mental, will sit right behind you in a large group and will make fun of you. Here's a hint. If you are a nice sincere person this is not the place for you. You need to be cold hearted and fit into the "clique" if you are an outsider consider yourself a target and be made fun of in their chat. I have worked in many corporate offices and this one Ive seen nothing like it. The worst part is that managers and supervisors are in the "clique" so good luck trying to talk to someone about it. I seriously thought I was loosing my mind. I'm glad the nightmare is over p.s the bullies will walk by your cube to see what you are doing and then tell everyone in their "clique"what you are doing. They are using the corporate chat to talk trash about people and laugh at loud and it hurts that they are so mean and get away with it. Oh yes don't forget I was called stupid right in my face by my supervisor. Isn't that awesome. My current job is nothing like unifirst.

    Cons

There's a cafeteria! Good snack free coffee

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on the employees. View what they are chatting about. Dont give all the power of your employees to your supervisors. Step up! I heard employees make fun of minorities which is absolutely disgusting.

    Cons

Corporate office needs to reevaluate the people they have in charge at this location. Big egos and bad ideas. They will run this business into the ground.
