    Pros

Everyone was incredibly friendly and the facilities were well equipped. Since the ice-cream factory was also at this facility, one could have free ice-creams every day. Also, there was a supermarket that employees could use that sold every Unilever products at a much cheaper price.

    Cons

I worked at the production facilities, hence it was far away from the city centre. I took about 50 min. by car to get there every day.

    Advice to Management

Be better prepared for receiving interns at their site. Give them more adequate tasks.

I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Develop a great sense of ownership, transferring knowledge between operator and mechanics. Maintaining a clean and safe environment to work. Extensively trained in safe manufacturing practices.

    Cons

Working in teams is not always good, therefore everyone is not able to be team leaders. Not being able to get credit for creative thinking.

Your employees are the experts, they are the ones performing the operations. Their ideas and opinions should be valued.

    Pros

    Great brands to work on.
Regional autonomy without much interference from "global".
    Cool office.
    Poised to grow.

    Cons

Weak top management (in beauty care, SG office)
Colleagues fearful of job loss and general atmosphere of "struggling it out in this dept before I transfer"
Slow to market and extremely risk averse (as all big fmcg's are)

    Advice to Management

There's one man at the top; and he's there to take decisions. But if you won't, or if you flip flop, then the Directors will just follow suit. It's time to stop that. Otherwise you're doing a fine job.
