I have been working at Union Bank N.A. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is very good, and benefits are good. Great people around you to work with.

    Cons

If your boss is on one side of the country and you're on the other, then they try to determine your future and your performance, it's really a recipe for disaster (your disaster and the company's).

    Advice to Management

Drive down the values that you hold and communicate, and then make sure they perform your values, i.e. treat all employees with respect and appreciation.

I have been working at Union Bank N.A. as an intern

    Pros

It has good environment, and the people are very friendly, and help me a lot during my internship there. and the work time is very flexible, the salary is also ok.

    Cons

Since I work there just three months, so I didn't find the cons of the banks, and I think overall it is a good company, and it is good to work there.

I have been working at Union Bank N.A. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are decent choices. They offer 3 different heath care provider choices. The 401 k match dollar for dollar is up to 3%, then .50 on the dollar from above 3% up to 5%. The insurance choices are good.

    Cons

Dental and vision leave a bit to be desired. All health and dental require a bi-weekly contribution on your part. I've had employers pay for all of the costs before.

    Pros

Good pay! Much more than any other same position at any other Retail bank in the area. As of 2014.

    Cons

Every internal system or outside corporate department you will interact with is slow, old and archaic, compared to any other Retail Banking job you can ever work at.

    Pros

Good company. Treats its people nice.

    Cons

After the Japanese MUFG bought it has been undergoing slow transition. Its ambitions are to become a top 10 national bank. It will get there.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the course

I have been working at Union Bank N.A. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Training, decent salary, good work environment. I have enjoyed working there. Company has various rotation programs if working internationally is important.

    Cons

Lack of short term strategy. Some upper management could be better. A lot of recent employment changes to accomodate growth at upper ranks.

    Advice to Management

Promote well qualified employees internally and get both a short term and long term strategy that is cohesive and achievable. Need to improve on internal system technology.

    Cons

Unfortunately the corporation is closing 20 branches in California alone! My branch is one of them.
