    Very thankful for this job.

Foreman (Current Employee) San Antonio, TX

ProsThe pay is good. The benefits are good as well but seem like they may be more expensive. UP offers a challenging work environment in a good way. Perfect place to work for someone who gets bored with their job because portions of it will continually change and you can always just bid somewhere else and do something different.

ConsThey preach safety is the key to success. I believe this too, but it seems we are way to quick to terminate people over smaller things, then when something more severe happens to a person higher up in the company... It gets swept under the rug. We are starting a new process to educate and use others mistakes and experiences to educate everyone else. Being union is a good thing because they have fought for what we have now, but they have been deemed pretty worthless here as of late. Seems like a waste of dues. But!! That's all part of the game.

Advice to Senior ManagementSometimes you should self-reflect and think why your employees think the way they do and try and fix the cause of it because it lies with in you. Other than that... It's about par.

Supply Analyst (Current Employee) Omaha, NE

ProsMany opportunities for changing careers within the company. Cross-department experience is highly valued. Flexible work schedules, true to work-life balance initiatives. Pay is very competitive. Total safety culture.

ConsLocated in Omaha, great family city but not recommended for young adults. There's an older workforce, which can be challenging with new ideas and processes

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company is amazing as it is. Relocating to a larger city would help retain a younger workforce.

    Great Company, even better Culture!

Finance Intern (Current Employee) Omaha, NE

ProsThe atmosphere at the company is great! The actual work is interesting and challenging at the same time. Working downtown in the glass palace is awesome to walk into every morning.

ConsThere are very few cons to this company. Being headquartered downtown makes driving to work every morning something that takes time out of your day also takes a while getting used to.
