I have been working at Union Pacific full-time

    Pros

It really wasnt a bad company to work for. i loved it but im furloughed at the moment so its a bit of a struggle

    Cons

Management seems to want to hire you to fire you. Dont agree with this philosophy

    Advice to Management

Work harder at trying to correct mistakes and prevent mistakes rather than hiding in the bushes trying to call a guy out over not throwing a switch correctly

I worked at Union Pacific as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had support from experts willing to help make me successful. Great co-workers made the summer internship fun. The company takes good care of the employees, and I recommend them to anyone.

    Cons

The UP Way (aka Toyota Way or lean manufacturing) is a little over the top as far as how much they talk about it compared to how useful it is.

    Advice to Management

Keep giving interns important projects and helping them actually contribute. I feel as though all of my managers listened to anything I told them.
