    Pros

They are always willing to help out when it comes to time off or changing schedules.

    Cons

The management don't seem to care about you. You are a body at the phone and that's all they care about. If you end up doing poorly, they will fire you and fill your seat with someone that's been waiting for months.

    Pros

If you show initiative, you can go far in this company. I've worked in both sales and product management. The work life balance is far better than my last company.

    Cons

The change over to the new CEO is causing chaos like I've never seen. His first quarterly call to the street, he committed to laying off 8% of the work force. True enough, there have been layoffs, as would be expected. But there has been zero communication as to if the layoffs are over, or if there are more to come. On top of that, there seems to be no communication on how these layoffs align to any change in direction for the company, or in fact, what the new direction is. No raises, ever. And very little bonus in the past two years.

    Advice to Management

Be more communicative. Because of the way this layoff was handled, I know we have lost several very good people who left on their own. I myself am interviewing, and will continue to interview until I either get a new job, or am told that I am safe.

    Pros

Training program for moving up to new positions in corporate office Aggressive in pursuing work for contractors Provide tech and good support for off-site contractors Invites direct contributions from contractors at the work site to prep for re-compete proposals Good talk about placing contractors after contract ends (we'll see if there's more to it than just talk)

    Cons

Routes communication through company site instead of broadcasting out to contractors in the field Obsessive about time-keeping, but lousy tools for keeping time

    Advice to Management

Check out TSheets for time keeping; more incentives for mid-level supervisors to communicate to contractors, especially during re-compete times

    Pros

Always something to do. Respond to incoming calls. Respond to incoming email. Remotely log in to clients computer to fix problems.

    Cons

Sometimes when right on the cusp of solving a problem, supervisor wants me to escalate the call. This causes the client to have to wait even longer to have their problem solved.
