    I worked at United Airlines

    Pros

Decent benefits, decent wages, and safe work environment.

    Cons

Never felt stable. Layoffs were a party of life. Wages seemed to always be cut along with benefits. Had to fight for everything you wanted to keep, let alone anything new you needed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. They are the front line of your company.

I worked at United Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Learned a LOT. Great opportunities to learn about many areas of the company. This is a great place to start your career.

    Cons

Small cog in a big wheel. Advancement has too many variables and not based solely on your work contributions. This is a great place to start your career and learn, but not a place to develop a long term career.

I have been working at United Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Can get involved with many aspects of the travel business from aircraft to the business end.

    Cons

Some managers haven't a clue about the talents or career goals of their "subordinates". Probably because they lack education and training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to put qualified people in management positions.

    I worked at United Airlines

    Pros

Free travel, yearly raise, profit sharing, meet new people, the job itself is easy

    Cons

The work schedule, being on-call, the merge is making things really messy.

I have been working at United Airlines

    Pros

I love what I do & I love working for this company. The benefits are great. I can't wait to use the pass travel! The HR on-boarding was excellent. My recruiter was friendly & informative.

    Cons

The attitudes of the employees are horrible. Everyone seems po'd about something.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire babysitters. Seriously though it seems like the company tries to engage employees and I hate to say clean house but there is a lot of really bad attitudes.

I worked at United Airlines (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Travel and health benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Senior agents who have been there for 46+ years take away all of the good lines so you're hitting glass ceiling. You really don't have a life anymore and it's not a place to make a career when you have a degree.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Jeff, when you come to check in miserable we truly are, at least speak to your employees. You don't know how miserable we really are. Hopefully he'll step down. Too many lines are being cut out of the routing, and American is taking full advantage of it!
