    Pros

United Rentals was my favorite job. Our manager Hillary was amazing and as a team we all worked together to meet our monthly goals and if one was falling behind everyone would help as a team should (including our manager). She not only rewarded us for our hard work, the whole department felt like family and it was a sad day when we all heard the news in regards to the fate of our department.

    Cons

The whole department was let go without a warning.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and get to know your employees. Take some time out and learn other processes and see where improvement can be made.

    Pros

Rapid growth with opportunity to grow with. Pays well with good job security. Fun atmosphere although a bit of a boys club.

    Cons

Company is changing and the climate seems uneasy for some of the veterans of the industry

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Great opportunities exist with this company! Compensation is best in industry, and across the board. Company values persons that are self motivated and have entreprenuerial spirit. Promotes from within.

    Cons

Must be self motivated, your ability to move up in the company is directly related to your relationship with upper management.

    Advice to Management

Spend time investing in employees! It's not always about the P&L.

    Pros

Strong sales training program. Can work anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Many different avenues for career advancement in sales, operations, and management.

    Cons

Micro management with too much CRM. Too much push and change in direction with not enough support.

    Pros

Tons of oportunity to move up if you are willing to move. Good pay, great people to work with. very busy so the day goes fast.

    Cons

It is a corporate job, I work within a large group where things can be lost. It feels at times more of a CYA job at points.

    Advice to Management

    keep it up

    Pros

Great benefits. Good opportunity for advancement if you are willing to lead the right way. Strong company vision is shared from top down. High wages compared to the competition, but a lot more is expected as well. Safety culture is very strong.

    Cons

Too much disparity between leadership from region to region. In the South (TX, OK, AR,) upper management is comitted to open communication, training, employee first management, and was still able to deliver company financial goals. In other areas management governs with an iron fist, zero tolerance, and fear. The latter being very disappointing when one has been party to the former.

    Advice to Management

Middle management needs to be more heavily rated on turnover and employee relations. I realize publicly traded companies are beholden to shareholders, but financial performance is only tied to short term success. Employee engagement and quality of life is key to long term success.
