I have been working at UnitedHealth Group

    Pros

This used to be a great small company, and still is. Good people, great location, good pay. There's a lot of work to go around.

    Cons

it was bought out awhile ago and the integration is definitely having an impact. Sometimes the work load is too much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be on the same page. Upper and middle management both can't tell workers different things since it's setting up the employees to fail.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

No state holidays but generous paid time off allowances. Management are nice though a little disorganized. Work is challenging but they do consider work life balance. They truly care for their members and are not greedy.

    Cons

Health benefits are supposedly not good but I think they're okay. People are not held accountable for actions making progress slow. Pay raises are infrequent and low. Work gets piled on capable employees. Burn-out seems common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more staff, especially efficient ones. Make people accountable to promote efficiency. Assess and divvy employee work loads to prevent burn-outs and frequent employee turn-overs.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time

    Pros

Work to Life Balance is high. Leadership in select depts. will always have your back

    Cons

Salary increase is very low once you are inside the company. Very high expectations- work you very hard. Some leadership is quick to throw you under the bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All about the bottom dollar- they need to reward their employees rather than cutting training, bonuses, etc...
