    Pros

I have worked for Unitrends for several years. At the time, I was looking for a company which featured cutting edge technology and a leader in its field and rewards its employees in income and recognition. In my time here I have experienced the efforts and resources the organization has taken to give me the proper tools to exceed my personal and company objectives. This is a result of many factors some of which are: • Great leadership from the executive to mid management level. • Hands on management ready to assist and total involvement with accounts in order to facilitate a high close ratio • Invaluable On-going Training relevant to job success and continued professional development • Aggressive but attainable goals which keeps me challenged and compensated fairly • Excellent communication within the organization which has helped me be on the same page with my external and internal clients If you want to be paid for your performance and potential with a team that has the right mix for success then Unitrends is a place for you

    Cons

    intra-departmental communications can be improved

    Pros

Great manager and wonderful team members. Very modern software package and a respectable backup/disaster solution. Good internal training. Definitely enjoyed my time with them.

    Cons

    Extremely fast paced work environment.

    Advice to Management

Managers are doing a good job and are nice to the employees. It is simply an extremely fast paced place with changes coming in daily. I would recommend that the management stress this part to any potential employee.

    Pros

Awesome and helpful developers and engineers with varied industry experience. Very talented and inspiring people who help you achieve the best you can under their guidance. Awesome products lineup will boost the company revenue for sure.

    Cons

From engineering perspective: There is very little importance given to testing and quality assurance. QA team is very small and needs upgrading and proper training. New strategies should be used to sustain growth probably with use of agile methodologies rather than using age old waterfall model.

    Advice to Management

Good Job with Sales and Support . Need more investment in engineering especially in testing and QA. If you don't have well tested products you will always get complaints from pissed off customers and probably lose some of them as well.

    Pros

Unitrends empowers its employees to make a difference on their team, be it sales, marketing, support, or development. Great culture of hardworking , smart people who truly want to see the company take over the industry.

    Cons

Lack of structure around new hire training, this isn't a place for those who aren't self starters. Slightly under paid for the industry. Long hours.

    Advice to Management

Add structure to training immediately to reduce turnover. Match 401k. Hire additional capacity in all sales support positions immediately, but with more structure.

    Pros

Best asset of the company is the amazing group of people that are team orientated, collaborative, fun and have a true passion for what they do. You have an opportunity to work independently while engaging in a team-like atmosphere. Great Customer Support Engineers who understand the needs of our customer. Great office support Our product is manufactured in the US and our Customer Support department isn’t outsourced to another country. No stick dress code. Enjoy the company provided sodas and snacks, ping pong, air hockey and company celebrations.

    Cons

Salary is not benchmarked with the best in industry. Political environment within some departments Lack of leadership Poor FTE orientation Lack of training Minimal career opportunities Limitations in promotion and always cost cutting.

    Advice to Management

Communication within company needs to improve. Focus on the experienced/talented employees and try to retain them. Hold your leaders accountable especially as it relates to employee retention. Have 360 degree feedback and appraisal, reduce politics in the teams. Senior management needs to be more sensitive to the needs of their employees. Telecommuting would be an added bonus.
