I worked at Universal Health Services full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Sincere intention to be a good company, treat employees with respect and offer competitive products and services. Many opportunities to learn new skills and think outside the box.

    Cons

Top heavy with management and very difficult to get projects and initiatives moving forward as there are too many chiefs protecting their own interests. Lacked clear sense of direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline layers of management and decision making processes. Better and more cohesive communication as to what the immediate organizational goals and priorities are.

I worked at Universal Health Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The overwork atmosphere was okay. I never saw the head of our group the entire of my employment.

    Cons

There was no formal training or trainers manual for your actual job, just the computer system that is known in the area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice would be to get a trainers manual for your new employees and get a trainer for each department.

Great upper management, gets involved in the day to days operations of the organization. Good support from corporate office.

    Cons

Lower levels are not adequately heard by the upper levels. Upper management need more involvement with staff vs. operation/mechanics of the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the counselors, techs , etc. Hear their grievances and act upon it rather than ignoring it.
