    Pros

Free park tickets, HHN preview night, 50% off christmas discount

    Cons

You're just a number to them, no room for advancement, claim to have a universe of opportunities but internal transfers are harder to get then if you were applying from the outside.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your employees managers and assistant managers treat you like a number and don't actually care about you.

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort

    Pros

    Complimentary Tickets into the parks
Free admission to a few other parks
    Discounted/Free Team Member Meals
Discounts on merch and other foods
    Novel work environment

Getting paid to do a job that a five year old could do

    Cons

-Anyone in a management position- all afraid to take personal responsibility for faults... at the expense of those who work beneath them

-Lack of communication between departments and managers cost me my job

-If they try to hire you on as seasonal, expect weekly hours within crazy ranges, from ZERO up to THIRTY NINE... you never know

-Very picky about cash balances (and everything else), so beware if you are a tad shaky handling any type of revenue (or happen to have a really bad day) , they will have you being watched and interrogated before you know what's happening

-Most likely will not give you the job you applied for

-Be ready to stand around for hours and hours, feeling like you have nothing to do

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

GROW A PAIR OF BALLS and stop tip-toeing around the serious parts. It is unfortunate that I was the victim to this MORE THAN ONCE under your establishment and had lost my job in the end. Have a little more respect to your employees that actually show initiative and maturity... we aren't all alike. Don't attack one limb and expect the others to stay dormant; if you try to poke at one problem, do not expect all of us dumb, idiot hourly workers to not shove the rest right in your face. Honestly, after the treatment I had undergone, all I truly have to say is... "Shame on you."

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort

    Pros

Perks, Free Food, Free Admission, Local Unlike Disney, All Shifts Available and sometimes you have some managers and team members that work with you, the rest are straight aholes.

    Cons

Uniform bags. Really? I.D. replacement costs so much money, the point system is horrible, no time to find out information

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to turn it down a notch. Just because your a manager doesn't mean to come in and get on the employees who are working hard because you had or having a bad day. Help out sometime instead of ordering around sitting and watching.

Poor Pay and Favoritism Run Rampant

Former Employee - Vacation Planner in Orlando, FL

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort

    Pros

Free entry to parks for self and a set number of tickets for family and friends every quarter. Within the Vacation Planning department, you receive payment for referrals and commission for ticket sales.

    Cons

Management plays favoritism when it comes to time off and scheduling locations. If you have been there a long time as a part time worker, they refuse to let you become a full time employee, and give preference to new hires when it comes to hours and locations. Certain supervisors are disrespectful as well, and have had times where senior management has forced them to apologize to employees for their behavior.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate supervisors in order to decide who should remain in their positions and determine a more appropriate method of allocating hours to employees with seniority and high sales histories.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Orlando, FL

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort

    Pros

Free admission to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, and Sea World.
    Affordable health care options.
Free admission tickets given out every quarter

    Cons

Benefits of working there pale in comparison to those at rival theme parks.
    Few opportunities for advancement.
The few promotions available result in a much heavier workload, while the increase in pay is negligible.
Employees who complain the most while performing their job duties the least get the most attention, while the employees who do their jobs go unrecognized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do a better job of recognizing leadership talent.
Devise a better benefits package that is more comparable to other theme parks in the area.
Make communication across all levels of the company more efficient.
Have a separation of management and employees to avoid the rampant formation of cliques as well as promotions being given to friends and/or significant others.
