Pros – My particular department is fantastic. The faculty is warm, friendly, and encouraging. I cannot speak to all other departments but I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. The students are interesting, to say the least, and I have LOVED the integrated, diverse student body. The focus on teaching is refreshing but there is still the capacity to pursue research and publication. I only give it a neutral rating because I've only been here a very brief period of time. Perhaps I will review again at the end of my first semester.

Cons – HR has some serious hiccups. The administration at this university leaves something to be desired, especially when you consider the relatively small size of the student body and employee rosters. However, my chair spend countless hours fighting to get things made right for me. They just have some kinks that ought to be worked out; it makes the university look a bit inept.

Advice to Senior Management – recognize problems and fix them. add people to staff as needed
