Place to work if you are truly passionate about science

Research Associate (Current Employee)

I have been working at University of Cambridge full-time for more than 5 years

ProsFantastic science, great people, good fun. Access to all the toys you could want is possible in the right place.

ConsSome people in admin make you do their job. Career progression is impossible unless you have demi-god powers to publish in high impact papers every year. Only come for the visit unless you made a name for yourself elsewhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementSort out admin, and realise the best scientists don't necessarily have Nature/ Science/ Cell papers.

– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

AWESOME

Prosfew amongst the many list of pros are that it provides a great working environment, facilities, infrastructure, networking and oppurtunity to learn new and improved techniques

Consthe list of cons is highly subjective to a particular lab however few of them would include that this is a highly competitive academia, the job can become monotonous, the pressure is always there to balance between routine duties and special project management
