    Graduate Student Worker

Graduate Student Worker (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsThis position has flexible work hours which gives you the opportunity to work around school work. Apart from which the staff are highly motivated to provide resources to students who need assistance with IT support.

ConsSpending most of your day at work, sitting in the same place. Slightly lower pay grade compared to other departments that have a similar job description.

Advice to Senior ManagementIn need of better work-life balance. Lesser interruption from managers of other departments.

    Relaxed work environment

    Student Worker (Former Employee)

ProsStable place to work for. The staff are friendly. The average age of the people on campus is necessarily very low since the University has several thousand undergraduate students. This makes it a more relaxed place to work in. With most systems in place for several years and new upgrades occurring with sufficient notice once every few years, the job can be dull, but routine. It's a place to make a lot of connections with a large variety of different personalities, leaving you enriched.

ConsAs a University and a state institution, there are routines and procedures that have been in place for a long time. New policies and procedures are implemented slowly, giving folks sufficient time to adapt, but making the job really dull sometimes. But it's not a real "con".

    Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsHigher than average pay for a teaching assistant. If the low living cost in Cincinnati is factored in, you get a pretty good deal.

ConsSometimes, it is possible that the undergraduate clashes and your own courses are clashing at the same time. It is, however, possible to cut out a deal.
