    Pros

Fantastic experience which I found rewarding in many ways.

    Cons

None for my position. I feel the starting salary is a little low, as it is based off of years employed at the University, not difficulty or workload.

    Advice to Management

Continue to help students gain experience through offering a variety of students the opportunity to TA

    Pros

Flexible hours, they work around your academic schedule. Great team the other employees in the department are a wonderful group of people. Wonderful students (for the most part).

    Cons

The university limits graduate students to 25 hours of work a week. This job could easily be full time and still provide graduate students with the opportunity to work on their own material.

    Advice to Management

Define clear goals for each student participating in the program. They should each come with a list of assignments to work on during their session.

    Pros

Good pay, but great benefits. Best retirement plan as an employee of the state of Colorado. Challenging, and yet interesting. Once people start here, they tend to stay for a very long time.

    Cons

You tend to stagnate in the same role due to budget constraints, even though you generally will get pay raises every year, except when times are tough, such as during the recession. Sometimes there's crunch time, but generally overtime is not expected.

    Advice to Management

Reviews come from the top down. There ought to be a way for employees to review managers as well.
