ProsThe nurses are phenomenal and work will together even when the days are busy.

ConsHeavy Patient load for the PCA's and lack of teamwork leads to very disgruntled and dissatisfied staff

ProsResearch and lab facility are great. Most of UCHC Classes can be taken by UConn grad students. In between Boston and NYC

ConsDistance to main campus. No shuttle but frequent buses to Hartford.

Nice Place to work

ProsHad the best supervisor/PI. Everyone is easy going. Most genetic researchers are excited as Jackson Laboratory is currently under construction along with extending John Dempsey Hospital

ConsDifficult to commute between UConn and UConn Health Center. In frequent bus service during weekends and nights that makes life difficult for researchers

Professional work environment - heavy on senior management - no advancement

ProsWork environment is good - state benefits are very good - other employees are very professional and

ConsSalary is low - advancement is unheard of - new employees are compensated better than existing employees - lack of transparency - unionization of workforce (even the physicians!)
