I worked at University of Dundee part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Able to feel free without being hindered by management or supervisors observations. Able to progress & develop as an employee without feeling the need to progress on a pre-defined path.

    Cons

Unable to progress toward anything further outwith the sessions. Other than that, no real issue.

I have been working at University of Dundee full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Surrounded by world renowned scientists. Cutting edge science is occurring in most departments. Excellent campus. Dundee is a great place to live and is fairly inexpensive.

    Cons

Completely dependent on department and supervisor: long hours expected, pressure to take fewer holidays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set out clearer working hours and conditions and make sure that they are adhered to.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
