Former Employee – worked at University of Florida part-time for more than a year

Learn some hard skills as I did the research.

Current Employee – been working at University of Florida full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – I have been working at UF for 7 years at the department, main administration, and center level. I really like the benefits that the university offers to its employees. They offer a great variety of health insurace and leave.
Cons – Raises are very strange. Last raise that UF got was almost 2 years ago. No performance raise.
Advice to Senior Management – UF has a great management training program. They should do it manatory to every staff member with supervision responsabilities.

Current Employee – been working at University of Florida full-time for more than a year
Pros – The Conference Department management really cares about the department's employees. If you're a good worker - punctual, attentive, organized - they will take care of you. I've never seen a place that is so easy going with time-off requests.
Cons – No opportunity for advancement. It's a small department and the boss is very competent, and he's not going anywhere. However, there is opportunity to transfer within the University.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue allowing the Conference Department to operate without you meddling.

Current Employee – been working at University of Florida full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – -They have a great selection of courses
-There are great professors
-They give awesome opportunities for research
-You are always pushed to succeed
-The weather is great
Cons – -I didn't find too many cons about working at the University of Florida. It was far from home for me, so that was a bit of a con. Also, I am from the Midwest where the people are very friendly. In Florida, there is a bit of an East Coast atmosphere. People are at a much faster pace and aren't as friendly as the Midwest.
Advice to Senior Management – Instead of cutting the budget so much, I think the tuition should be raised a bit. For the quality of the University, the tuition is quite low.

Former Employee – worked at University of Florida full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great and friendly staff. The weather is usually very nice. Bike friendly community. Nice location. Tuition waiver for grad students on assistantship.
Cons – Sometimes funding can be pulled or lost. Gainesville is probably the farthest city from the coast in FL. Gradschool takes up all your free time and youll wish you had more time to enjoy FL.
Advice to Senior Management – Thanks!
