    Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Retirement benefits are especially generous. They have a flex spending account, as well as decent co-pays for office visits.

    Cons

It's all about appearances. They like big posters with achievements on them, but the actual behind the scenes action involves 50% lazy employees who know how to game the system and 50% employees who make up for the other group...until they get tired of working for peanuts while someone else doesn't have to work to get paid.

    Advice to Management

Consider listening to your employees. Pay them a decent wage instead of spending money on commercials and pretty posters.

    Pros

UK has a good benefits package available for employees.

    Cons

We were never offered the chance to submit feedback on our immediate supervisors. When these concerns, and others, were brought to the associate dean, we were brushed aside as inconsequential. Very disappointed in the college's ability to look beyond merely getting instructors in classrooms and toward the potential for sustaining the growth of the department.

    Advice to Management

Offer more opportunities for Lecturers to feel like they contribute to the university and are continuing individual professional development, instead of just relying on us to bring in revenue.

    Pros

Great faculty, residents and students in general.

    Cons

Lack of transparency particularly in the College of Medicine. It is still a "Good ol' boy network".

    Advice to Management

The UK President should be more attentive to the administration of College of Medicine.

    Pros

    Cons

too many reorgs, raises and job security not certain, lots of incompetent managers, people have atittude that you are either a short timer or here for life.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees, stop building new building and give out some raises, advance the intelligent people not just those that have been there the longest

    Pros

403b, you contribute 5%, they contribute 10%, 100% vested from day 1. Health insurance is $25 per month for basic individual coverage. They have a work/life department and encourage supervisors to let their employees take advantage of those options.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, little opportunity to move up, parking (you have to pay for it), my position was a boring dead end job, working with people who are content in boring dead end jobs. Because the whole area I worked in was bored, it gave time for people to create little petty arguments, which created a lot of stress for all involved.

    Advice to Management

Supervisor training needs to be monitored.
