Current Employee – been working at University of Kentucky full-time for less than a year
Pros – There is so much available as far as programs for furthering your education, training, benefits, etc. The University wants its employees to succeed in their careers and they offer many tools to allow employees to do so.
Cons – There are so many employees with the medical center and faculty and staff, as well as students, parking can be a nightmare during the day. You will definitely get your exercise walking to work!

Pros – Great benefits - 200% retirement matching, excellent health care, dental, vision insurance. Good place to work with a lot of great people.
Cons – Infrequent raises due to budget cuts; parking expensive; some parts of the University system dont' necessarily make sense.

Former Employee – worked at University of Kentucky part-time for less than a year
Pros – The staff are nice and supportive; Nice town to live in; Facilities are convenient. HR and management team handle the request quickly. IT support are also great to solve the problems for you.
Cons – The University budget is cutting, especially for the next fiscal year. There are no other complain besides this. University of Kentucky at Lexington is an idea place for work.

Pros – -very flexible with student's schedules; prioritize student's needs for study
-progressive place, with attempts to minimize energy usage, commuting, etc
-good communication from higher-ups (deans, president, etc.)
Cons – -low pay
-high expectations for a student worker being paid a low wage
-little to no parking
Advice to Senior Management – improve communication; respect the need for departments to utilize public relations and marketing methods to improve.

Cons – Budget worries, there was a long period (3 years?) where no one received a raise
