Former Employee – worked at University of La Verne
Pros – Great colleagues.
Free education after you complete three years with the university.
Beautiful campus
Great vacation time for professional staff members.
Cons – Management does not respect employees.
All ideas are shot down by management.
Credit is taken by management when employee does good work.
Poor parking situation.
Departments hate one another.
Advice to Senior Management – Although the things that you're doing at the university worked twenty years ago does not mean it's working today. We need to change with the changing time! We are behind all other universities because we refuse to grow with society.

Current Employee – been working at University of La Verne
Pros – The University of La Verne has a wonderful mission that caters to so many different types of students. It has been ranked one of the most diverse universities in the country. Students come first at the University of La Verne. Students get a lot of personal attention at ULV with very small class sizes, giving the students all the help and advising that they'll need. Employees can get advanced degrees from the University of La Verne free of charge - it's part of the benefits package. In addition, immediate family members of employees are able to attend ULV and other institutions (that are part of a tuition exchange program) free of charge.
Cons – Although students are treated well, employees are never given the credit and respect that they deserve. The pay scale for employees at the University of La Verne is pretty low compared to other similar institutions in the area. Comp time is something that is unheard of at ULV - if you're an administrative professional employee, you will work a lot of over time with no compensation. Promotions are hard to come by and raises are small. Employees are not as respected as senior managers think the employees. Many employees (faculty, AP staff and classified staff) are unhappy and it's known, which has brought the morale down at ULV.
Advice to Senior Management – Employees need to be given more respect.
