    Pros

Good benefits (healthcare, wellness incentive, plenty of HR support), opportunities to move around laterally, things move at a fairly slow pace. Working on a college campus is fun, there's lots going on all the time.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive with corporate jobs, although some colleges and departments are much better than others. Slow pace, inefficient processes, and lots of red tape can be frustrating if you have never worked for a public institution before.

    Pros

Laid back yet challenging environment with a great amount of opportunities for professional development and ongoing education. MU is a great professional community and the many departments/divisions all respect and work together to ensure collaborative relationships. Flexible work schedules and a great appreciation for work/life balance.

    Cons

Pay ranges are not typically great for staff/exempt staff. Unless you're faculty or in a senior position, it's likely that you will not be compensated for the amount of work you do. There are minimal raises.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep quality professionals who are knowledgable in regulation/compliance, an increase in pay rate may be necessary. Take the time to sit down with your staff to discuss future goals and how it's possible to obtain a promotion/raise.

    Pros

Good place to work because it was very calm atmosphere. University is technically well equipped. Technicians are really helpfull

    Cons

There is no time and place for enjoyment. This place is just for study and no fun. Weather is ver bad and unpredictable. Its severe sometimes

    Advice to Management

Please try make to make more diversified. I don't have any advises. they can't be blamed due to the weather conditions

    Pros

The people are awesome. They are very friendly and keep the workplace lively.

    Cons

There is some lack of communication between departments. Most communicating is done through email, which is very slow.

    Advice to Management

Need a better chain of command. There are too many supervisors, so it gets confusing who reports to whom.

I have been working at University of Missouri full-time

    Pros

The nurses are great to work with. Most of the doctors are as well. GREAT place to get really good nursing experience.

    Cons

Sometimes it doesn't feel like the nurses are valued as much. Seemed to be always short staffed. Currently going through some changes so there are a lot of kinks that need to be worked out.

    Advice to Management

Go to the bedside and see what is actually going on and then make improvements or changes. There seems to be a disconnect between administration and staff and a lot of the times administration want staff to do certain things that just can't be done at the bedside but they don't know that because they haven't been at that level.

    Pros

Receiving individual attention from my advisor and the faculty. Friendly environment. Fully equipped with the latest instrumentation. Great learning environment.

    Cons

The program offers no post graduation job finding assistance. Although the faculty themselves help tremendously by using their own connections.
