    UNT Adjunct Professor

    Adjunct Professor (Former Employee)
    Denton, TX

ProsGreat students and a wonderful work environment. You teach the subjects that you love to students who want to learn about your passions. The campus is beautiful and the kids are smart and motivated.

ConsAs an Adjunct Professor, one is never sure if there will be funding for the next semester. Consequently, I had to plan for other sources of income outside of my teaching responsibilities. Also, there are no benefits as an Adjunct Professor.

Advice to Senior ManagementI have no problem with part-time professors - as long as they know the subject matter and receive adequate pay and benefits. Furthermore, they need job security once they have proven themselves capable in the classroom. It would also be a good idea if they could work towards a career path, such as a Ph.D program if they only have a Masters degree or a full Assistant Professor appointment if their student and faculty evaluations are worthy. Publishing opportunities would also be valuable to establish their credentials for future job opportunities.

It was a wonderful experience, one of the best jobs I've ever had.

    Donor Development Representative (Former Employee)
    Denton, TX

ProsIt had a Flexible management staff, with a casual environment, despite all this we still maintain a professional work ethic and got things done. In many instances we were able to meet our goals and sometimes we even exceeded them. Other than pay we were given many perks from our development team that made it worthwhile.

ConsThe only problem I had was the level of compensation, although because of the other perks I didn't mind it too much.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great work!

Teaching Assisstant for the Anthropology Department

    Teaching Assistant (Former Employee)
    Denton, TX

ProsGreat professors that always seemed to take an interest in their Students. Extremely well organized course structure. Hours were very comfortable and pay was great. Coworkers were majoring in the same subject, so we all had something in common

ConsStudents were often quite difficult to deal with. Many had a lack of fundamental skills necessary to complete their coursework. It was hard to help students that weren't willing to help themselves.
