    Pros

once you learn. You better look for something else. Very good name for your resume. But you have to work free for that

    Cons

No resources for a real show. A joke for serious journalism. No investigation at all. The good people are not apreciate. Pay as low as a fast food employee. Mediocre people on the top that dont let good quality people grew.

    Advice to Management

Look for professional people. Apreciate the reals journalists.................... consider Pay decent salary and keep your employees satificed. They are the heart of the company. If you want a good show then you have to have enough resources in every city univision is.

    Pros

You get cupcakes on your birthday. The office can be a bit cliquey, but there are some really great people if you can find them.

    Cons

Management is terrible. The company does not promote from within but rather likes to hire externally. The turnover is high even for a media company. Issues that have been brought to HR do not remain anonymous and your boss will be told. Everyone is overworked and underpaid. Ultimately, DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!

    Advice to Management

Actually pay attention to your employees

    I worked at Univision full-time

    Pros

While this was a terrible job to put up with, the hard work inevitably taught me a lot, and opened up the door for other opportunities outside of the company (Univision very rarely takes care of their own, and has never promoted a media strategist internally).

    Cons

Working as a media strategist on the digital sales team at Univision was a terrible experience overall, and it is very apparent that the sentiment is shared among the entire digital strategy the team. The "rotating door" and retention issues have become so bad that more than half of the employees have quit (whether for better jobs or simply unemployment). Still, management and HR have done nothing to change any of the business policies or the poor management structure that these poor conditions are stemming from. As a strategist, the amount of work and stress put on you is simply not justified by the mediocre pay and benefits. Bonuses are always promised, and never actually given out so be careful! I cannot stress this enough that the management team, simply put, does not care about employees. In fact, management's lack of business savvy is apparent in the way the digital business is failing, and at a company like Univision where all of the power is given to a few greedy individuals at the top, these issues have simply gone ignored because stupid people continue to get their fat paychecks no matter how poorly the business is run. The pay model is nonsensical and unfair, where only those at the top are compensated for bonuses, commissions, and yearly raises by the media strategists hard work to run a business that they know nothing about.

    Advice to Management

It's difficult to advise good business sense but it seems as if there is simply a lack of skill and knowledge on that front. Stop being so greedy and short-sighted. Respect your employees and they will not leave you. If your entire team is unhappy and leaving, maybe that is worth addressing. It is common sense that the strategists should be given commission, and the bonuses that they are promised. The team is understaffed, and the workload is unrealistic. You continue to set yourselves up for failure with your poor business decisions. When will the cycle stop?

    Pros

Great hardworking coworkers. Good location ... dont know what else to write. Coworkers are great the company is HORRIBLE!

    Cons

Horrible horrible management. Univision lays off many people then expect you to pick up the slack. Upper management get raises and bonuses while the little people working get nothing! They have a LEAP program that brings in talented college grads but yet they do not invest in there own people or try to create programs to make the current staff better.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the employees that have worked hard for many years! Also communicated more .. stop all the secrecy.

I worked at Univision full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation. Growing company serving the biggest growing demographic in the US. Market leader. Strong focus on results. They will buy you lunch every day to make sure you keep working.

    Cons

Awful leadership, esp in the digital group. Significant turnover there. Complete lack of respect by one part of the organization for others. Political infighting and power struggles. Very corporate feel for a media company.

I have been working at Univision full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Commitment to the Hispanic community - External reputation (which does not match reality)

    Cons

    - no room for advancement - poor bonus potential, VP and above only (what they "fight to get" for directors is laughable) - managers are never ever satisfied - very distinct factions in the company, with heads/presidents of units at odds - be prepared to work many evenings and weekends - veiled threat of an IPO and mysterious rounds of layoffs is meant to make us all believe we are lucky to have jobs -- no employee surveys

    Advice to Management

-- practice what you preach -- look into work/life initiatives -- support your people -- look at morale within specific teams -- maybe try doing an employee survey -- pay market rate

I worked at Univision part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You learn a lot about production and get to work with nice and knowledgeable people.

    Cons

You're horribly underpaid Some of your superiors are unprofessional and lose their tempers at a moment's notice Your health and well being is second to the production Moving in to a full time position is next to impossible

    Advice to Management

Don't take advantage of your employees. Many of them are immigrants who are exploited because they are just grateful to be working.
