I have been working at VMC Consulting full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Opportunities to advance are provided as they win contracts and jobs lost when they lose them. It is the same for all of the vendor companies in this area. Great place to work to gain knowledge.

    Cons

Office culture is cold, work-life balance has improved over the last year, I think there is promise here, but would wait until they figure out and openly communicate where they are going.

    Pros

Great portfolio of services and good base of customers.

    Cons

Wholly owned subsidiary of Volt. Most view VMC as a staffing company instead of an IT Consulting co.

I worked at VMC Consulting as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

I worked with VMC for almost two years as a vendor on a project at MSN.
*Each contractor has a rep who's meant to stay in touch with you about how the contract is going. This a pro or a con depending on who you have. I dealt with two reps; the first was very communicative, the second, not so much.
    *Friendly staff
*Good contract opportunities at large companies in the Seattle area

    Cons

*Pay is OK, but the benefits are terrible. If you're a full-time employee with VMC who manages the vendor contracts, as opposed to one of the actual contractors, it might be better. I had a decent paycheck, but no medical benefit options other than a discount program (not insurance) and no PTO or sick days.

I worked at VMC Consulting full-time

    Pros

High profile clients add to the appeal of working for VMC. Well respected by clients along with having a close knit family experience.

    Cons

Not a lot of diversity when it comes to client base, lack of growth opportunities for employees. All eggs in one client basket for the most part.

I have been working at VMC Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay and hours. Being a vendor for Microsoft isn't bad because you get a few of the perks. Alright benefits once you qualify.

    Cons

You are still just a vendor. In my experience, you are almost always hired by an employment agency, then they will keep you on after a year. During that year, you pretty much get no benefits (vacation, PTO). No real opportunity for advancement.

    I worked at VMC Consulting

    Pros

    Decent salary for the area.

    Cons

Lack of proper oversight. Inconsistencies in management styles. Poor communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There were many inconsistencies in what we were told to do, what our client Apple told us to do, and what worked.
