I have been working at Vacations To Go full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great earning potential and great perks. I think this is one of the best sales jobs out there. All of the leads are inbound, and we are selling a fun product. A lot is done to keep agents happy in the office and employee suggestions are used to continue improving. Training is paid, and the training program is very thorough. Anyone who wants to be successful here is able to. The dress code is casual, work environment is fun, and the company picnics and holiday party are fun events outside of the office. Many opportunities for free and discounted travel.

    Cons

The hours for new agents are nights and weekends. Eventually you are able to move up to earlier hours or different days off, but it can be difficult for some people to adjust to the schedule at first. It can get a little repetitive sometimes.

I have been working at Vacations To Go full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

All of the leads are inbound, with no cold-calling. I haven't made a cold-call in years, and hope I never have to again. This is truly the perfect job if you can stay self motivated. It's all up to you, to basically run your day yourself. I've been on over 10 vacations for free, I make good money, and I get to talk about travel all day. Plus, the company has picnics twice a year, free ice cream every month, a crazy holiday party. What's not to like?

    Cons

The hours aren't great for new people, but they get better. If you can't stay self-motivated, this isn't the place for you. I'm not sure about the other commenters here, but I've seen it before. A sales rep here complains that they aren't making enough money, but then they spend half of their day socializing and never answer the phone. You get out what you put in, simple as that.

Over 100k annually, a bit repetitive...

    Pros

Easy to make over 100k in your second year here (still working 40 hours a week). Most don't give it that much time, hence the negative reviews. Good training program. Management is a mixed bag, some great, some incompetent, but that's everywhere. Travel perks are amazing. If you're going to apply be aware of your phone voice and diction as that comes across on the phone. All leads are inbound and mostly pre-qualified.

    Cons

Not a lot of culture. Bad schedules when you first start. You have to earn your schedule. Only closed Christmas and Thanksgiving. Some team managers micro-manage. Call center environment but better pay and perks than most.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fairly nice, but we never see them with the exception of team managers.

I worked at Vacations To Go full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Travel agents can make a lot of money if they work more than 40 hours a week, no cold calling which is a plus for inside sales

    Cons

If you are not a top performer, you will never get a hello from upper management or any encouragement. The top performers don't need encouragement, it is the agent who is almost there , who need a little pat on the back

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management structure stinks. You have a VP, Director, then Assistants. You never know who is in charge of the department or who really makes the decision. Promotions are based on who likes you not what you know. Positive, the COO and CEO are friendly and easy to approach

I have been working at Vacations To Go full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Money can be very good, especially for highly motivated people. Laid back environment and dress code. Everyone gets along really well, and managers are great and helpful. Get to sell a fun product to clients that want to talk to you! Very extensive training for new hires. Company functions throughout the year. Free trips!

    Cons

Weekend and/or evening hours for new hires coming in can be challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be great if we could work from home.

Great Money, Excellent Bonuses, Flexible time off, free and discounted travel. YOu can make as much or as little as you want. It really has to do with your drive.

    Cons

In dealing with the Public we sometimes deal with unreasonable expectations from clients. The schedule is tough when you first start out.

I have been working at Vacations To Go full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You can make as much money as you'd like. 40 hour work week, but if you want to put in more time, it's completely up to you. Benefits are great! Laid back envirionment, friendly place to work. (I've never worked in an office that had an open door policy throughout the company, including management)

    Cons

Work weekends in the beginning. Can't work from home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

THANK YOU for taking the time to ask our input several times throughout the year. I've never worked for a company that asks its employees what the company can do to better the work place and make it more comfortable for the employees. AMAZING!!! Thanks for the company picnics, free icecream and starbucks in the office, the free flatscreen Tvs, Ipads, and trips you give away throughout the year. Please do not change a thing! You're awesome!
