I have been working at Valeant full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

My pay did not decrease when Valeant took over. Medical and retirment benefits are relativley competetive.

    Cons

Since aquisition of the company I worked for, layoffs have been quarterly and to close for comfort. There is no sense of long term employment or advancement in R&D.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve communications.

I have been working at Valeant as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Valeant pays their employees well and has somewhat flexible working hours because we do business with people in Canada and California who are in different time zones.

    Cons

This working environment is very stressful because one person is expected to do the work of about 5 or 6 people and they fire hundreds of people every time they make another acquisition.

    I worked at Valeant

    Pros

    Salary is competitive
    Co-workers are great
Before Valeant took over Biovail, it was a great place to work

    Cons

Management is horrible.-no mentoring, no support
Very high percentage in layoffs- no stability
No room for advancement- wherever you start is where you will stay
New CEO is known for dismantling organizations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is only out to promote themselves and could care less about the employees who actually do the work. Please open your eyes, see who is actually doing the work, and reward accordingly.

I have been working at Valeant

    Pros

The only reason to be happy to work for Valeant is that they have an amazing product line, and the potential that things may "resolve" themselves and there could be a potential growth strategy put into place.

    Cons

Unorganized, overworked, grossly underpaid compared to similar positions in other companies. Valeant is slow to respond to needs in the field, drops the ball and just doesn't seem to know what it is doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees what they are worth, perhaps a percentage to total dollars brought in? Recognize employees contributions throughout the year, not just at President's Club.
