I worked at Valeo as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The environment makes it easy to go to work and enjoy your work. People make the company great.

    Cons

Had some trouble with older employees not accepting of new ideas. Some stubborn people working on the manufacturing floor and maintenance staffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get everyone on the same page, old employees need to accept new ideas and younger staff should be accommodating to older ways of doing things.

I worked at Valeo full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The product is great fun to work on. Who doesn't get excited by car head and tail lamps?? It is great having the lamps built onsite. You can really see how they are made. And the shop floor is amazing and modern.

    Cons

Old timer or two doesn't welcome newbies. Melting plastic vapors are an annoyance to eyes, nose, mouth, ears. RIGID timekeeping is a slap in the face. Clock in and out every time you walk out the door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really can't complain except maybe get and keep some standards.

I have been working at Valeo

    Pros

The automotive field is a wide field where you can learn many things in software architecture, embedded systems, software testing and one of the most important standard software architecture that is well known for many automotive OEMS which is AUTOSAR. The company culture supports diversity and you feel that in different teams there. The external activities like outings, charity, team building activities... enrich the working experience with enthusiasm and make the teams feel as if they are one family. The salaries are quite good especially with the bonuses like the referral bonus when new employee refer to you.

    Cons

Although the field of automotive makes you learn many things in software engineering, it is some how restricted on the automotive industry which limits the chances of moving to any nonautomotive companies. The salary package needs some enhancements especially in the transportation allowances.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Central HR should look over division employee grown and for founder employees priorities should be given which get miss and new people get good grown and old people get neglected
