    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on retaining best internal talent while letting mediocre professionals leave if they want to to other companies. Create opportunities to succeed for engineers in all departments by having an internal rotation policy or similar. Ensure consistency in titles across all sites and corporate.

I worked at Valero Energy full-time

    Pros

Employees are highly valued, and the professional environment is good. I like the quality and color of their uniform, which you get for free. They are also very conscious about your safety when you work at store, so they give you device that you can connect to related authority in case of emergency. One thing they didn't want at my place was employees working overtime. They have good career advancement opportunities depending on where and how you work.

    Cons

You won't usually get overtime even if you want. That's one of the reasons I quit, because at that I needed a job that gave me overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

High-level managers should communicate to low-level employees or clerks to learn what's going on at what level.

I worked at Valero Energy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I loved working here while I was a college student. The hours were very flexible. The manager was the best! the best part about working at Valero was that I was able to work alone and with a team and it always felt like you were your own boss.

    Cons

The pay was waaayyyy to low. It was my first job, but after working here for a year, my pay only went up by .50/hr. I was a VERY hard worker. Also, my co-workers were there for 5+ years and were only getting paid a little above minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reward your workers more.

I have been working at Valero Energy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good associates. • Tasked with providing professional services, solutions, and advisory services to over 350 healthcare providers in the areas of Health Information Management, Healthcare Technology, Revenue Cycle, ICD-10, & Finance & Accounting.

    Cons

Sometimes the compensation structure is not clear. And there problems as you move in the hierarchy.
Took 2 Weeks into the job before all the payroll paperwork had been done. this made me and my team have to leave site just to get Kforce Paperwork done so we could get paid for the work we had already done. Very Poor planning on their part.
