I have been working at Vancity full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Holidays are great. 12 care days a year which staff take interchangeably. Great place to do the min and cruise. Tons of people with long tenures. Impossible to be reprimanded or fired.
Cons – No employee engagement survey this year but then again the ones in the past were never really looked at. Otherwise engagement scores in departments would be scrutinized but instead, yay we went up a few percentages thanks to our new hires! Constantly trying to compete with the banks that have much deeper pockets and investments into infrastructure. Here if you need something done, don't ask otherwise may as well do it yourself.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to all your employees, rather than those that just kiss behind for their personal gains. The quietest ones are the ones that observe the most.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Vancity
Pros – Relaxing environment, relatively friendly to newcomers. Very happy with work-life balance being tilted towards the having a life side of things.
Cons – There is far too many "contractors" who just aren't into the whole Vancity ethos and have been there too long to actually add real value.
As a bank for the people, they are really not at the leading edge (or ANYWHERE near) the front half of innovation. In terms of learning about finance or banking, I'd suggest going elsewhere, if you want safe, dependable then Vancity is your answer.
Advice to Senior Management – Innovation isn't a swear word.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
