    Pros

Excellent working environment if you're someone who doesn't like to push youself. Clock watcher? Come to Vanguard.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive. Also, needs to cut down on "recognition" and ramp up bonus structure for those of us bringing in serious dinero.

    Pros

They work at developing their interns and heavily encourage them to network within the company to get a better understanding of people's career paths, roles, and business acumen.

    Cons

You don't get to choose the projects you work on, so you could be majoring in finance but work a social media project.

    Advice to Management

I would try to better match the interns to their projects.

    Pros

The environment is laid back and very friendly. No pressure about sales, books of business, etc. Great benefits. Company does a lot to support community.

    Cons

Being a call center, it gets very robotic after a while. Pay is less than competitors salary. Not much incentive to stay if you don't mind doing a little more elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as well as you treat your clients.

    Pros

Work like balance. Depending on the department you can have later start times and/or a compress shift.
Benefits are great from the health care to vacation time.
More departments are moving to the AZ site.

    Cons

Can be difficult to move up. Low pay and average raises. Feel more like a number then a person in some departments.

    Advice to Management

Managers can be to focused on projects which doesn't leave much time for them to support their team.

    Pros

    -work/life balance
    -decent benefits
-make significant contributions to your 401(k)
-ability to move around the company often and try different roles/gain new skills
-great at training employees and encouraging development
-good profit sharing plan paid out yearly

    Cons

-hard to negotiate salary increases. Base salary can be low. Have to really speak up for yourself and do your homework to make sure you are getting a fair base
-some management there is great, truly inspiring leaders, but more of the leaders there should stick to what they do best and should not be in a people leadership position
-slow to try new things, make decisions. A lot of bureaucracy and red tape
-it's a huge company and it can be hard to stand out and make a name for yourself

    Advice to Management

Put only people in leadership positions that truly want to be there and are strong leaders and coaches. Stand up for your employees and make sure they are being paid competitively.
