I worked at Verizon full-time for more than 5 years
Pros – Large organization with large vendor relationships. Lots of locations.
Cons – Poor management at the top level. Frequent layoffs, outsourcing to overseas locations which is reducing customer service. The company is more focused on cost savings due than anything else due to rapid lowering customer prices. The wireless division is the only one that is not suffering from losses.
Advice to Senior Management – Figure out a way to retain good engineers in the US.

I worked at Verizon full-time for more than a year
Pros – Big company. You have the ability to move around when they close down your office or relocate your job. You can hide and do nothing as long as you look busy.
Cons – Big company. Ant on an ant hill. Lots of passing the buck. Only a few people have the real information and they are harder to find then a needle in a haystack.
Advice to Senior Management – Wow...really? They didn't listen when I worked there...I'll save my breath.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
