I have been working at Verizon full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay with real good insurance. Overtime available if you want it. Although mostly forced overtime.

    Cons

Only thing keeping me at this job is the pay. It is a call center and as you would expect in a call center they push employees real hard to get off of one call and get to the next. Seem to care more about stats then helping customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try treating employees as adults that are trying to assist customers. At some point it isnt about call time but actually fixing a customer so they don't have to call back.

    I worked at Verizon

    Pros

pay and bonus and get Health insurance for CWA members

    Cons

Management constantly listen to every call, to find a flaw in the contact with customer.
Management on call center do not make fell like your partners with companies success.
Management play favorites on which queue representative go in to take inbound calls.
Only worried about sales objective , not customer service, do not care about problem call .
Vendor reps are not trained correctly- CWA representative have to fix all their mistakes
Employee over 40 years of age, the company wants gone, because of the no lay off clause in the contract

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Coach consultant for success not failure.
Management on call center do not make fell like your partners with companies success.
Lack of training on sales and customer service.

I have been working at Verizon full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The people you work with are awesome

    Cons

The salary is the lowest in the telecommunications industry.
    The management team is horrible
They do not have a desire to actually help those advance within.
Product offerings are horrible and customers in the 11 states region they own are satisfied with Verizon.
Out of my training class of 12, 3 remain.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Full tuition coverage and great people to work with.

    Cons

Big disconnect between lower and upper management. There is not much opportunity for growth. Getting promoted is all about who you know and not what you know. As a manager you may find yourself avoiding layoffs about once or twice a year while watching some union workers without a job function not having to even think about layoffs. They are also outdated with regards to pay and benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bridge the gap of communication between lower and upper management and investigate the current process of how people get hired including the interview process.

I have been working at Verizon

    Pros

    Benefits first day. Nice campus.

    Cons

Was illegally fired, took it to court, and won my unemployment pay. When we chose shifts,, it started off by seniority. By the end, it depended on which team ranking you had. Was micromanaged by certain supervisors; that is not acceptable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your reps, not just your favorites. Offer refresher training to those who come back from disability. Don't lie to reps who are trying to do right. Train the store reps to be truthful, they'd offer a new phone for opening a new line. Offer healthy choices in the cafeteria for lower prices.
