Management focuses on squeezing every bit of you.

    (Current Employee)

ProsColleagues are friendly and smart. Opportunity to work on the latest technologies. Good stepping stone for gaining experience to join a larger employer later.
    Flexible working hours.

ConsUpper management takes advantage of staff. When they go IPO at a low price, they ask you to sign a voluntary paper to convert your higher price options to lower exercising price options, but your options vesting year resets to the current year. That means the number of options you can vest is the same as a new hire, even after working here for many years. Why not just keep the same vesting date? Why take back the options already vested to you?

The bonus given to staff is also a joke. It's just a small bonus, yet they ask you to agree that you must stay here for the next year else they take back the amount from you. C'mon, If people want to quit, no one cares about such a tiny amount anyway.

Managers commit to unrealistic timeline to you without discussing with you first. When you can't make the deadline, they blame you. There is also no appreciation from management even if you work very hard to meet the impossible deadline.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop taking advantage of your staff and when you give out options and bonuses, please be more generous and don't ask people to sign "retention agreement". It is just a tiny reward not huge investment bank bonuses!

Give out more information to your employees and stop hiding information. We are not dumb.

If you want to keep growing, you need to trust your employees. Do not micro-manage everything. Delegate to a good manager you trust.

A company whose best days have passed. In a death spiral.

Engineer (Former Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsExcellent technology to work on across the board. Can learn quite a bit if you are proactive.

Cons-The management is seriously lacking: Little to no leadership or management ability, obvious creation of fiefdoms. Little to no accountability on their part as well
-No concept of proper project/program management. Projects are always behind schedule and over budget
-Unable to stand up or push back to clearly unreasonable customer demands, which led to scheduling delays and slips. This caused a reduction in customer confidence (and ultimately some dropped projects)
-Massive lay offs are continuously being performed with no restructuring or sustenance program in place, leads to no confidence in the future of the company

Advice to Senior ManagementDiversify. The media SoC business is not one where money can be made.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
